About Valois Home Improvements
Fine Finish Carpentry to Major Home Remodels
Raymond’s journey into carpentry started over 20 years ago, after nearly a decade in advertising photography. What began as small handyman jobs quickly turned into full remodeling projects. It didn’t take long for clients to notice he brought something special to the work. His creativity and talent for detailed built-ins and custom carpentry set him apart. His photography background gave him a sharp eye for design, balance, and proportion, skills that show up in every project.
Ray holds himself to a high standard and takes real pride in what he builds. As a visual thinker, he approaches each project with both artistry and practicality. He helps homeowners see possibilities they may not have imagined. His work ethic comes from a lesson his father drilled into him: “Do it right, or don’t do it at all. I try to be better today than yesterday.”
Clients can feel that mindset. Most of his work comes from referrals because people appreciate the way he treats their home and the way he communicates. He protects the space, keeps homeowners in the loop, and makes sure they feel comfortable every step of the way.
That attention to detail and his genuine love for craftsmanship, has earned him long-term client loyalty and a reputation for quality. Whether he’s doing fine finish carpentry or managing a full home renovation, Raymond is always concerned about the quality of the outcome.
With more than two decades of experience, Ray takes on everything from custom builds to complex projects other contractors might pass on. He enjoys solving tough problems with creative solutions. In his words, “I’m a creative craftsman.”
Ray lives in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts with his wife and two kids. When he’s not helping homeowners transform their spaces, he’s usually out mountain biking, golfing, or spending time with family and friends.
